It should have been obvious from seeing all of Julie’s gorgeous bags. The Fat Bottom Bag is such a great pattern that even as I sit here, I’m thinking of what color yarn I could use for my next one. I know that the girls’ teachers will get one and probably a few family members. Particular family members could even request a color. You know, those family members who read my blog regularly and never leave a comment.

For my next one, I’m going to use a bolder color for the outside. I’m thinking of either ordering fabric online or visiting a quilt store. While I like this particular fabric that I grabbed in a rush at Wal-mart, I’m much more attracted to the vintage-look fabrics that I’ve seen around the web.
Details:
3/4 of a ball of TLC Essentials in Linen
“I”, 5.5 mm hook
1/2 yd. fabric
bamboo purse handles
It took me a few rows to feel comfortable with the herringbone half double stitch. It definitely effected my ability to return to doing the double crochet stitch in my afghan. I almost had a row of hhdc on my tassled afghan last night before I realized that something was not right. The stitch creates a beautiful texture and the entire purse works up so quickly that it’s not easy working on other projects without starting another one.
