About Me
I am:
- thirty-something
- married for 8+ years
- mother of two beautiful, loud and obnoxious girls (okay, they’re not obnoxious, but they’re still loud!)
- I’m a recovering shy person thus the fascination with the loud kids.
- my husband is a rather reserved person and grew up in an all-boy household so the girls are a new species for him, one that he rarely understands but always loves
- I’m a native Houstonian, but a true child of the suburbs. I know where only a handful of places are in the city, like the zoo and museums.
- I’ve been crocheting for five years
- My mother taught me to crochet - she’s been crocheting for six years
- Crocheting skipped a generation. I have doilies made by my great- and great-great grandmothers.
- My favorite crochet projects are purses, bags, totes, etc.
- I don’t use any of them.
- Why? I can’t sew worth beans so they all need lining.
- I’m left handed so I’ve yet to ever try filet crochet. I might one day, but I doubt it.
- Wet wool really stinks, but the finished project is completely worth it
- No one can pronounce my middle name correctly the first time. (It’s “Chi”.) {Thanks Mom!}
- I love baseball, particularly the Astros.
- I live about a mile from Andy Pettitte.
- His house is a whole heck of a lot bigger than mine.
- I love to go camping.
- One of my favorite places to camp is Perdenales Falls State Park where the Guadalupe River is clear and cold and the hiking around the falls can keep you busy all day.
- I’m a cat person.
- If I were to go back to being a dog person, I would get a Shetland Sheepdog.
- I had two Shelties growing up - Toby and Rowdy.
- I was the editor of my high school newspaper.
- My grammar has detiorated since then.
- Seeing U2 in concert in Las Vegas was my most memorable concert experience.
- The tickets were a birthday present from my husband.
- The Edge is my favorite.
- I love old books, especially early 20th century history primers.
- My birthday is in November.
- I miss November’s birthstone being classified as topaz. It’s now citrine and just isn’t the same.
- I’m a scorpio. My family says it’s obvious.
- More later….
